Jeevan Utthan Kendra

Jeevan Utthan Kendra, also known as Life Development Centre (LDC) in English, is a dedicated institution focused on social service of enhancing the lives of persons living with intellectual disabilities in every possible aspect with genuine effort.

Founded in 1997 (2053 B.S), LDC is a non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-political social organization, registered under the District Administration Office and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council.  The Centre began its journey with seven children and has now been providing comprehensive care for individuals ranging from 11 to 61 years old, with 29 children currently receiving residential care and services.

For over 28 years, LDC has been committed to offering services and programmes in the residential care setup of the centre that

not only helps children and adults develop in every possible aspect but also provides their families with the opportunity to work for their living (else one parent at least needs to be taking care of the child) knowing their loved ones are in safe and capable hands. Mrs. Rekha Manandhar started working with the late Fr. Adam B. Gudalefsky since the education and care services for persons living with intellectual disability, was first incepted in Nepal about 46 years ago.
