Our daughter, Mamata has been living in the residential centre of LDC since 2057 B.S. (2000 A.D.). Initially, when we (parents) went to Hattisar to attend a training programme at the Susta Manasthiti Kendra, we met Dhruba Miss and Kabita Miss, both of who had come from LDC for the training. After learning about LDC through them, our daughter’s stay at the centre began.
When we visited the centre, we were impressed by the good conduct of the founders, Rajesh Manandhar and Rekha Manandhar (Rai), as well as by the well-organized system of care and support provided to the children.
With regard to our daughter Mamata’s intellectual development, we have observed significant improvement compared to the past. She is now able to eat by herself and can walk around (supervision and minimum assistance is required), which used to be difficult before. She is non-verbal. She can now recognize people, understand simple instructions and follow them. The care provided to the children is excellent and our daughter Mamata is happier living at LDC than at home.
